Northwest Missouri State University's Board of Regents approved the tuition and fee structure for the 2025-26 academic year at a meeting. A 4% increase was sanctioned, impacting tuition and additional fees for students. In-state undergraduates will see around a $225 rise in net tuition, while out-of-state students could expect a $450 increase. Room and board will also see annual rises between $396 and $564 based on choices of residence and meal plans. Graduate-level tuition rates will differ by program and delivery.

Vice President of Finance and Administration, Stacy Carrick, highlighted the university's focus on affordability, with a significant portion of students receiving financial aid. Carrick also noted that Northwest is efficient in state funding per full-time equivalent student compared to other public universities in the state.

The meeting also included approval for new academic programs. New bachelor's degrees in public administration and agricultural mechanics and manufacturing will become available. These programs are designed based on industry and student feedback. A Master of Science in management science was also announced, aimed to enhance students' analytical capabilities.

Degrees will be conferred to students graduating this spring, and seven adjunct faculty appointments for the upcoming term were approved, along with the Board's meeting schedule for the next academic year.

President Dr. Lance Tatum acknowledged outgoing leaders of university organizations and welcomed Steve Black as a new Board member. Tatum praised Black's dedication to understanding the University's operations and looks forward to his contributions.

The Board focuses on managing resources effectively and shaping the University's educational and financial policies.
