Northwest Missouri State University is gearing up for its annual Bearcat Day of Green on April 2-3, with the community dedicating 1,905 minutes to raising support for the institution. The event, now in its fourth year, aims to garner backing from alumni and friends to contribute to various campus initiatives through financial gifts.

Tess Lovig, the annual giving and alumni relations specialist with Northwest’s Office of University Advancement, highlighted the significance of collective efforts during the Bearcat Day of Green, stating, “The Bearcat Day of Green is a collective effort from many Bearcats to impact Northwest on a larger scale. We’re able to make a vast difference for the University when we pool together our support during this event.”

Alumni and friends of Northwest are already actively spreading awareness about the event, which seeks to raise funds for causes that will benefit current students. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate by visiting the event's online platform between 9 a.m. on April 2 and 4:45 p.m. on April 3.

Participants in the Bearcat Day of Green have the opportunity to contribute towards areas such as academic excellence, scholarships, Bearcat athletics, campus beautification projects, and various funds supporting multiculturalism. Additionally, donors can choose to give to the Northwest Fund, which supports the university's most significant needs.

During the event, donors can make one-time gifts to Northwest, and their contributions may also help unlock additional challenge gifts based on predetermined criteria. Progress of the giving campaign can be tracked on Northwest Alumni Association social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

The Bearcat Day of Green serves as a platform for the Northwest community to come together and show their support for the university's growth and development.
