Northwest Missouri State University has made significant interim appointments, naming Krista Barcus as its interim vice president of culture and Lt. Amanda Cullin as interim chief of police, effective April 1st. The appointments were approved recently by the university administration.
In a statement, Northwest President Dr. Lance Tatum expressed confidence in the newly appointed leaders, saying, "Ms. Barcus will bring a tremendous sense of passion and dedication to this role." Dr. Tatum also commended Barcus for her proven effectiveness within the Senior Leadership Team and expressed certainty in her ability to lead the division of culture at Northwest.
Krista Barcus, who currently serves as the assistant vice president of human resources at Northwest, will step into the role of interim vice president of culture. The position focuses on organizational culture and reinforcing shared beliefs essential to the institution's success. Barcus, who joined Northwest in 2018, holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Northwest and a master's degree in leadership and management from Western Governors University.
Regarding Lt. Amanda Cullin's appointment as interim chief of police, Dr. Tatum stated, "Lt. Cullin demonstrated her ability and effectiveness to lead our University Police Department during the interim presidency of Dr. Green." He also expressed gratitude for Cullin's willingness to serve in this capacity as the university begins the search for a permanent chief of police. Lt. Cullin, who previously worked in the University Police Department and the education sector, holds a bachelor's degree in advertising from Northwest and recently graduated from the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
