Northwest Missouri State University's 2023 Tower yearbook has been selected to be featured in Varsity Yearbook’s Portfolio, a national showcase that celebrates the commitment and talent of students and staff who produce exceptional yearbooks. The portfolio represents a total of 612 schools, demonstrating the innovation and excellence found within school yearbooks printed by Varsity Yearbook, formerly known as Herff Jones.

Out of the represented schools, 1,744 examples were meticulously selected, with 77 books chosen for the esteemed Anthology section, including honorable mentions. This marks the 15th consecutive year that Tower has been selected for Portfolio and its 25th selection overall.

Steven Chappell, the director of student publications at Northwest and Tower’s adviser, stated: “It’s a testament to Northwest’s continued support of student journalism and our students’ continued passion and determination that we have sustained such excellence in yearbooks for so long.”

The selected yearbooks are distinguished by their consistency in both verbal and visual elements, exceptional coverage, and high-quality photography. Portfolio represents the top 1 percent of books printed by Varsity Yearbook.
