Northwest Missouri State University has outlined procedures for students to return textbooks and laptops as the fall semester concludes. Students have the option to return items in person at the Maryville campus or via shipping. Specific details are available on each office's website.
The university provides laptops and textbooks as part of tuition, aiming to make education affordable. This initiative saves students approximately $6,800 over four years compared to other institutions. The textbook rental program began in 1922, with the laptop rental program starting in 2005.
Textbooks must be returned by December 13 to avoid late fees. Returns can be made at Textbook Services on the Maryville campus during business hours or at Northwest-Kansas City in Gladstone, Missouri. A UPS return label is available for those unable to return items in person.
Late fees apply for textbooks returned after December 20, and replacement costs will be charged if not returned. Shipping costs post-December 13 are the student's responsibility.
Spring semester textbook pickup begins January 10 and continues through January 15 at Textbook Services on the Maryville campus. Late fees apply for books not picked up by January 15. Students can request shipment of spring course textbooks via email.
Laptops should be returned by December 13 for students not continuing into spring semester. Returns can be made at either the Maryville or Gladstone locations, with a UPS label available until December 10 for shipping purposes.
Non-returned laptops incur a $1,500 charge, which converts to a daily late fee once returned after December 13.
