Northwest Missouri State University's Board of Regents convened for their regular session on Thursday, where they reviewed and accepted the results of the fiscal year 2024 financial audit. The audit, conducted by RubinBrown LLP, provided an unmodified opinion on the University's financial statements, indicating no misstatements.
The annual audit covered the fiscal year ending June 30 and involved a thorough examination of amounts and disclosures in financial statements. It also assessed accounting principles used, significant estimates made by management, and evaluated the overall presentation of the financial statements.
In addition to this, RubinBrown completed an audit of major federal awards received by the University. This too resulted in an unmodified opinion with no misstatements.
During this session, the Regents approved conferring degrees at the end of the fall semester on December 13. Northwest will honor its fall graduates in two commencement ceremonies.
The meeting also included recognition for a student who received an honor as one of the state's top junior or senior geology majors. This marks him as Northwest's 11th recipient in 25 years.
The Board is tasked with ensuring sound resource management for Northwest Missouri State University and determining its general educational and financial policies.
