Bulldogs Hit Another Walk-Off As They Split First Two Vs. Rockhurst

Truman State and Rockhurst split the first two games of a doubleheader with the Bulldogs falling 5-3 in 10 innings and walking it off 7-6 in eight innings.

Game One: 

Kevin Donohue scored on a first and third stealing situation in the second inning, with Will Fromm getting thrown out at second and Donohue advancing on the throw.

Rockhurst went up 2-1 in the fourth with an RBI single, but Truman tied it up in the same inning with Luke Turner scoring off a Holden Missey groundout.

Luke Turner hit an RBI single in the eighth to take a 3-2 lead, but Rockhurst evened it with an RBI single of their own.

The Hawks scored two in the 10th to take the first game 5-3

Four Truman batters recorded two hits in the game, with Luke Turner going 2-5 with an RBI and a run.

Holden Missey had Truman's only other RBI.

Zachry Schneider threw eight quality innings, allowing three runs and five hits while striking out three.

Game Two:

Rockhurst opened up the scoring in the first, plating four runners off an RBI-single and a three-run home run.

The Bulldogs got one back in the second with a Will Fromm home run to make it a 4-1 game.

The Hawks scored two more in the third with a two-RBI double.

The Bulldogs scored six in the fifth, sixth, and eighth innings to walk-off the game in the extra inning played. Tal Dean and Kevin Donohue homered in the fifth, Grant Beck scored off an error in the sixth, and Luke Turner scored Beck in the eighth to win the game for the Bulldogs.

Kevin Donohue went 2-4 with three RBI, a home run, and a run.

Luke Turner added a 2-5 day at the plate with two RBI along with his walk-off hit.

Isaac Epp gave four great innings out of the bullpen, giving up no earned runs, striking out five, and allowing only two hits.
