Northwest Missouri State crowns Riley Steele and Abby Fisher as 2025 Homecoming royalty

Northwest Missouri State University announced Riley Steele and Abby Fisher as the 2025 Homecoming king and queen during the annual Variety Show on Thursday night.

Steele, a senior psychology major from Kansas City, Missouri, is involved in several campus organizations, including Interfraternity Council, Pi Kappa Alpha, Student Activities Council, Student Ambassadors, Involvement Ambassadors, and the Honors Program.

Fisher is a senior from Ashland, Nebraska, majoring in biology with an emphasis in biomedical sciences. Her campus involvement includes Panhellenic Council, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Student Senate, Tri-Beta, and Society of Presidential Scholars. She also serves as a General Zoology supplemental instructor and Principles of Bio Lab teaching assistant.

The Homecoming prince this year is Brooks Nally, who attends transitional kindergarten at Northwest’s Horace Mann Laboratory School. He is the son of Trent and Chloe Nally. The Homecoming princess is Piper Plackemeier, a kindergarten student at Eugene Field Elementary School in Maryville and daughter of Hans and Whitney Plackemeier.

Undergraduate students at Northwest selected the king and queen through online voting conducted from October 13 to 21. The university’s Homecoming week will conclude on Saturday, October 25.

The 2025 Homecoming court included several other candidates for king and queen. King candidates were Jason Holland (senior, mass media: broadcast production), Cole Hunter (senior, agricultural science), Clayton Kohler (senior, business management), and Paul Nelson (senior, history). Queen candidates were Joselyn Alkire (senior, agricultural education), Avery Baker (senior, applied health: sports medicine), Alexis Talbot (senior, marketing), and Anna Tucker (senior, political science). Each candidate is active in various student organizations on campus.
