Northwest Missouri State University vocal ensembles are gearing up to showcase their talents in a series of concerts as the university wraps up its academic year. The University Chorale, Celebration show choir, and Tower Choir will be performing in various venues throughout the month of April.
The University Chorale will kick off the concert series with a spring concert featuring works by American composers Jake Runestad and Timothy Hoekman. The Celebration show choir will follow with their annual spring show themed "The 60s!" showcasing a variety of music styles and periods, including choreographed numbers, vocal jazz, and ballads.
Lastly, the Tower Choir will be part of a Jubilee Concert commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. The concert will feature extended choral masterworks by Benjamin Britten and Franz Joseph Haydn, along with performances by Northwest students and faculty soloists, the Tower Brass, and guest organist Dr. Ling Lo.
