The Northwest Foundation, the fundraising entity for Northwest Missouri State University, reported successful fundraising efforts during Fiscal Year 2024. The Foundation focused on scholarship funding and campus facility upgrades, securing $5.7 million in total donations by June 30.
Scholarship support remained a key mission, with nearly $1.4 million allocated to fund 1,437 scholarships for students at an average of $974 each. Additionally, the Foundation facilitated the creation of 15 new initiatives.
Approximately $4.9 million was provided to the university as direct and indirect support for various needs throughout FY24. This included more than $1 million raised for specific projects.
The organization saw an increase in its membership base to 195 members who contributed unrestricted gifts of $1,000 or more annually. The annual giving program raised around $438,000.
In March, alumni and friends participated in a fundraising campaign lasting 1,905 minutes that inspired 345 donors to contribute a total of $111,725 towards university initiatives—an increase of nearly 12% from the previous year’s campaign.
Donors supported scholarships, academics, Bearcat athletics, multiculturalism programs, campus beautification projects, and radio initiatives. Students expressed gratitude through “Thank a Donor Day,” decorating areas with notes acknowledging contributions.
Eighty-four percent of funds raised were cash gifts from a total of 4,130 donors supporting Northwest initiatives. The Foundation's assets under management reached about $50.7 million with an endowment standing at approximately $38.8 million.
The Northwest Alumni Association recorded around 4,500 attendees at association-sponsored activities nationwide during FY24 while alumni volunteered for a combined total of 1,739 hours.
