The B.D. Owens Library at Northwest Missouri State University will hold its 25th annual Brick & Click Academic Library Conference on Friday, Nov. 7. The event, which is open to the public, will take place virtually via Zoom and aims to bring together library professionals from across the country.

The conference will cover topics such as artificial intelligence, training student employees, library usage and tools, collection management, and leadership.

Brandy Brady, director of library services and operations at Northwest, said, “We hope our participants will get something to feel re-energized. It should give them inspiration for things to try, an uplifting feeling, shared knowledge and maybe we can help solve some problems. If nothing else, we hope other librarians will feel less alone in the work they do. It is really about building community and making connections.”

The B.D. Owens Library contains more than 123,000 books, documents, and bound periodicals. It also offers nearly 66,675 periodicals in electronic format and more than 330,000 eBooks and audiobooks through platforms such as EBSCOhost and Overdrive. The library features Novel Grounds, a lounge area with Starbucks.
