Northwest Missouri State University’s Tourin’ Bearcats, a travel program for alumni and friends, is now accepting reservations for its next tour to Switzerland and Northern Italy. The excursion, scheduled for June 1-11, 2025, will feature stops in Zurich, Zermatt, St. Moritz, and Lucerne. Travelers will experience a scenic rail trip through the Bernina Pass and a cruise on Lake Maggiore. The itinerary also includes visits to the Borromeo Palace and Mount Pilatus.
Most recently, Tourin’ Bearcats sponsored a visit to Spain from May 24 through June 4. This trip provided Northwest alumni and friends – ranging in age from 10 to 80 – with the opportunity to explore Madrid, Toledo, Córdoba, Seville, Granada, Valencia, and Barcelona. Highlights included visits to Prado Museum, La Mezquita, Alhambra, La Sagrada Familia, a Flamenco show and a Paella experience.
“The Tourin’ Bearcats program provides an opportunity to travel with University alumni and their friends,” said Northwest Director of Alumni Relations Duane Havard. “Each year we look for locations that are of interest to our travelers through surveys, and I truly enjoy hearing the stories and connections that our travelers make to their years as Northwest students and on these trips.”
