Northwest Missouri State University is set to host its annual Northwest Week from March 24 to March 28. The event, a longstanding tradition at the university, aims to engage students and the community with various activities, giveaways, and prizes.
Organized by the Student Activities Council (SAC), the week-long celebration will feature several social events for students. This year's lineup includes a T-shirt giveaway, a picnic with food trucks at the Memorial Bell Tower, a "make-n-take" event, and a murder mystery party.
Katelyn Briggs, SAC president and junior psychology major from Eagleville, Missouri, stated: "Northwest Week is a time for the entire Bearcat community to come together and find joy in small and large events alike. These events allow us to not only celebrate our campus culture but also connect with one another, fostering a sense of unity and pride. Whether it’s through shared traditions, spirited competitions or simply enjoying each other's company, Northwest Week serves as a reminder of what makes our community truly special."
The SAC's spring lineup will conclude with an event on April 8 in collaboration with Owens Library for a night of miniature golf within the library premises.
SAC's mission is to enhance student life by providing social, recreational, and cultural activities throughout the year. Their offerings include concerts, lectures, movies, comedians, and late-night events aimed at enriching student experiences on campus.
