Staff members at Northwest Missouri State University have received recognition from the University Photographers' Association of America (UPAA) for their recent work.

Todd Weddle, multimedia service manager at Northwest, was awarded third place in the UPAA's Quarterly Narrative Series Competition for his production of the university’s “Be. Every. You. at Northwest” commercial.

Lilly Cook, a multimedia specialist at the university, earned fourth place in the Personal Vision category of UPAA’s Monthly Image Competition for September. Her recognized photograph features a tree stump and plant life in Colden Pond on campus.

“It’s an honor to have our work recognized alongside so many talented professionals,” Weddle said. “These awards reflect the dedication of our entire team and the ongoing commitment to quality storytelling at Northwest.”

Weddle has been with Northwest since 2015 after working for 17 years as a photographer and visuals editor at the St. Joseph News-Press. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwest.

Cook joined the Office of University Marketing and Communication last year after earning her bachelor’s degree in digital media from Northwest Missouri State University.
